Earliest style of dress worn at Wildwood.  This dress was made from an authentic pattern & features the drop shoulders & full skirt of the Civil War era. There have been pictures found of Grace Louise Ware wearing a waist with leg-0-mutton sleeves probably taken in the late 1890's.  Many seven panel skirts were worn with various decorative touches.  This guide is pictured in the Dining Room  The Wares moved to Wildwood in 1869.

Victorian ladies like Karen, shown here in her turn of the century gown, spent a lot of time in their gardens.  You might like to take a stroll through the Wildwood Victorian Garden and enjoy the ever changing blooms, scents or birds on your next visit.  For information on reserving the Garden for a wedding, reunion or other special occasion please contact Wildwood Historic Center at 402-873-6340.
